MICHELE LEQVE

Michele Leqve started bow hunting in the fall of 1996.  She met her husband Jim in December 1995 and quickly found out that he was a bow hunter only.  Wanting to follow in his footsteps, she put down her gun and started bow hunting only!  She and her husband Jim travel all over the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South Africa pursuing the animals they love to hunt.

In the short time that she has been bow hunting, she has taken 36 big game animals and has 9 different species!  Many of those are Pope & Young.  One of her most treasured trophies is this 9.5 foot Polar Bear she took in Pond Inlet, Nunavut, Canada on April 14th 2006.  Knowing all of Michele’s accomplishments, it’s easy to see why she is known as; “The EXTREME BOWHUNTRESS”!

Michele was a field producer and was seen on “Greg Hopf’s DEER QUEST Outdoor Adventures TV Show” and she was seen regularly on the WomenHunters® OUTDOORS T.V. show.She aired on "ASAT® NATION" on the Sportsman's channel in the first & second quarters in 2008. She is also involved with the WomenHunters® Club www.womenhunters.com and is a writer and on their International ProStaff. She has taught Archery and Bowhunting classes at eh Women in the Outdoors events in Minnesota. She has been a Speaker at the Deer & Turkey Expo in Minnesota as well. She gives seminars at local schools and 4-H clubs. Her seminars are not only about her hunts, but she teaches the children to be respectful of wildlife, nature, land, and most importantly the land owners.  Talking with them about now important it is to give back for what you have taken.  She explains how important it is for women and children to be a part of hunting and that Women hold the key to the future of hunting.  She is a great photographer and also videotapes her husband’s hunts.  She has been published several times in” Bowhunter Magazine” and is now adding “Bear Hunting magazine” to that list.

Michele is active in helping women and children get started in the bowhunting industry.  You could say that Michele has never met a stranger.  With her energy, big heart, and knowledge she is an asset to the bow hunting industry.
